Key Points:

  • Youth and young adults have proven to be reliable and passionate tobacco control activists, but have to deal with the increasing problem of inadequate or non-existing funds.
  • There are limitless opportunities through unpaid traditional media outlets, social media/networking, street activism, social change campaigns, etc., to draw attention to your cause, garner support, and create sustainable change.
  • Being able to identify and articulate your goals will help facilitate the process of identifying varying opportunities of support and collaboration.
  • Effective planning and organizing, along with clear and concise messaging is vital to intentional collaboration.

Educational Experience: Participants will be introduced to best practices of veteran programs and activists as they expose effective strategies, highlight essential skills, and learn activism-based approaches that can be utilized for youth and young adult programs requiring little to no funding.

Benefits: Each participant will receive a copy of Legacy’s Youth & Youth Adult Activism Tool-kit
