Reality Check Tour NCTOH Abstract: Audience: Primarily, any youth and those that work with youth (teachers, heath educators and policy makers) would benefit from this presentation. Key Points: The audience will be able to take away the key points by viewing the professionally produced videos we created to showcase the tour, viewing the materials that were created via a PowerPoint, view the evaluation techniques we used and will be able to borrow any of our materials to adapt them to their own communities where they live, work and play. Educational Experience: We will cover the demonstration of the Reality Check, how to become a human billboard, how to effectively use the statistics that were developed for this tour, how to be an effective deliverer of the message and lastly how to evaluate the tour by the use of social media and several other inexpensive tools available to almost any youth or community member. Benefits: The REALITY CHECK Tour is a youth led project to expose the tobacco realities in KANSAS, especially the targeting of youth in marketing strategies used by the tobacco industry to recruit new users. The tour will shed light on the reality of tobacco use and the health effects and addiction caused by these products. We have designed REALITY CHECK to help peers, parents and concerned citizens make informed choices about the tobacco industry, its tactics and the consequences of using tobacco in any form. Our goal is to make sure everyone knows the facts about tobacco.
